The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has resumed with KZN Hawks Warrant Officer Karl Sander on the stand. Sander has detailed his vast experience as a narcotics investigator and the dangers of fending off interference by high-ranking police officers linked to drug cartels.
Earlier the commission granted North West-based businessman Suliman Carrim a postponement, after being declared being medically unfit to testify. Carrim will now testify on the 25th of this month. Meanwhile, KwaZulu-Natal Hawks Head, Major General Lesetja Senona, will testify on Friday.
His appearance follows a request by his legal team last month to postpone his testimony, citing concerns that the Commission had not provided him with certain implicating statements from other witnesses. SABC News Reporter Canny Maphanga is in Pretoria and joins us live.
