Israel has killed more than 900 people in Gaza since a ceasefire came into effect in October, but for many Palestinians, survival extends far beyond the battlefield.
Haneen Shamiya, a mother whose eldest child is just twelve years old, is battling breast cancer whilst enduring displacement, food shortages, and near-constant insecurity.
She describes receiving expired chemotherapy medication and immune-support injections, with doctors warning that radiation therapy — already overdue — remains unavailable in Gaza.
Shamiya fears the cancer may have spread to her lymphatic system, yet cannot leave without her children.
