Trump Says Iran Deal Is Close But Tougher Terms Still Under Discussion

US President Donald Trump says he is close to securing a "very good deal" with Iran but insists he is in no hurry to finalize an agreement.

According to reports, the White House is seeking tougher conditions in a proposed memorandum of understanding aimed at extending the ceasefire and addressing Iran's nuclear programme.

Trump says Iran has agreed not to develop or acquire nuclear weapons, but negotiations continue over key issues including sanctions relief, frozen Iranian assets and the future of regional security arrangements.

Iran's foreign minister says talks remain ongoing and cautions against speculation, stressing that no final agreement has been reached.
