Shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz are hitting communities along Iran's southern coast hard, as traders, port workers and ship crews report falling incomes and dwindling trade. In Bandar Abbas, wholesale traders describe near-empty shelves as supply chains break down, while port clearance workers say imports and exports have fallen sharply. Ship captains report fuel shortages and departure delays that once took 30 minutes now stretching to two days. As the standoff between Iran and the United States continues, livelihoods across the region remain under mounting pressure.
