Ratings Agency, S&P maintains SA's positive rating

Standard & Poors Global Ratings Agency has affirmed South Africa's sovereign rating at BB, keeping the outlook positive even as many other economies face downgrades.

Government has welcomed this, saying it is a sign that fiscal discipline and reforms are starting to pay off.

Analysts are also encouraged that the agency maintained a positive outlook in the face of macro-econonmic challenges.
