MK Party must crack the whip on internal corruption ahead of elections: Dr Ntsikelelo Breakfast

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party is once again embroiled in controversy this time following the arrest of its chief whip, Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi, on fraud charges.

According to the Hawks, Mokoena-Zondi allegedly recruited four researchers into the party before demanding payments from them under the pretext that the money was needed for legal costs linked to party president Jacob Zuma.

The arrest deepens mounting concerns around instability within the MK Party, which since its inception has been rocked by internal divisions, leadership shake-ups, and growing tensions including the recent removal of former spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndlela.

But are these isolated incidents, or signs of a party battling a deeper internal crisis?
