Water Outage | Rand Water provides maintenance update

Rand Water began major planned maintenance on Friday, 29 May. The work runs until Monday, 17 July 2026 and causes water outages across vast areas.

The three Gauteng metros — Johannesburg, Tshwane, and Ekurhuleni — are affected, along with surrounding municipalities including Emfuleni in the Vaal and Merafong in Carletonville.

The most severe disruptions hit between now and Monday, 2 June for 96 hours, with another shutdown.
