Nelson Mandela Bay Metro battles with teacher and learner safety at schools

Vandalism, incidents of robberies and substance abuse continue to compromise the safety of teachers and learners at some schools in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro in the Eastern Cape.

This emerged during the school safety inspection led by Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube.

The visit aims to promote safety and security at all schools.

Bullying among learners has also been identified as another issue of concern.
