Explaining the role of the Department of Military Affairs (DMA), the CDS said the authority of the Chief of Defence Staff is implemented through the office of the Secretary, DMA, and both roles “go hand in hand”.

In conversation with @nitingokhale on #DDNews, the CDS said DMA helps solidify reforms through government sanction letters, joint orders and instructions, while also processing the modernisation requirements of all three services in harmony with Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff.
