KZN police on high alert ahead of truckers' strike

Acting KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Major General Phumelele Makoba, says police are closely monitoring threats to block the N3 as part the "All Truck Drivers Forum" protests on Saturday.

Makoba has told the media that law enforcement agencies have partnered with the business sector, crime prevention structures and communities to prevent any disruption.

She warned that police would act against any unlawful behaviour during the protest, adding that officers are duty-bound to use force should protesters fail to comply with police instructions.
