''India Has Sufficient Fuel And LPG Stocks'': Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas

India has sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel, LPG, natural gas, and crude oil. Refineries are operating optimally, and LPG production is at an all-time high of about 92 TMT per day with no reported shortages at distributorships.

However, abnormal retail sales trends are being observed in some districts due to agricultural demand and a shift of bulk purchases to retail outlets, including from private oil marketing companies. Around 150 districts have seen over 30% growth in petrol sales and 156 districts in diesel, with some districts reporting over 100% growth.

The government is monitoring the situation. States/UTs have been advised to form special squads to prevent hoarding and black marketing. Consumers are urged to avoid panic buying and use only authorised procurement channels, says Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing & Oil Refinery),
