SACP sponsored Conference of the Left kicks off on Friday

Organisers of the Conference of the Left have dismissed suggestions that they are setting up a new political party. The SACP sponsored three-day gathering is called to rebuild the organised power of the working class and the poor. It will be attended by at least ten left-wing political parties, thirteen trade unions and trade union federations, nineteen social movements and community organisations as well as nine international solidarity organisations. It starts in Boksburg starts east of Johannesburg on Friday until Sunday.
