Power utility, CENTLEC allocated R15bn

The Mangaung Metro has allocated the power utility, CENTLEC a whopping fifteen billion rands. The executive mayor, Gregory Nthatisi says despite having to fend off vandalism and cable theft, CENTLEC remains a strategic asset for the regional economy. The second biggest chunk of the budget has been channelled to Water and Sanitation amounting to over eight billion rand for three years. The city acknowledged that water security remains the most challenging for the city due to collapsed infrastructure. Nthatisi tabled the annual municipal budget at the city hall in Bloemfontein.
