Floods in Syria: Euphrates River bursts banks, forcing farmers to flee

Flooding has sent people in rural Syria to higher ground as the waters of the Euphrates rise. Days of heavy rain in the region have forced authorities to open several gates at the Euphrates Dam to relieve pressure on the reservoir. Flooding has already damaged farmland, homes, and businesses.
