The focus is on making the system more efficient through AI-enabled beneficiary selection, elimination of duplication, improved logistics, and reduced transportation movement, which can bring down costs by 15–50%. It also emphasizes better feedback mechanisms and stronger system monitoring. The approach is holistic, focusing on improving the entire delivery chain. It is not about replacing the existing PDS framework but strengthening and modernising it. Importantly, all state governments have been actively involved, with consultations held with key stakeholders to incorporate their inputs.
