MKP Chief Whip Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi has been arrested for fraud

MK Party Chief Whip, Mmabatho Mokoena Zondi, has briefly appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court.

The matter was stood down after her attorney, Barnabas Xulu, was unable to present a Fidelity certificate to appear, despite claiming he is fully compliant with the Legal Practice Council.

Xulu has since withdrawn as legal representative and will be replaced.
It has also emerged that the state will not oppose bail.
