Kimberley | Police halt illegal Operation Fiela raid

A Kimberley-based organisation, Operation Fiela, launched raids on foreign-owned businesses around the city. But the raids were abruptly stopped by police, who accused the organisation of taking the law into their own hands. SAPS says organisations must work with Home Affairs and the local Sol Plaatje Municipality if their raids are meant to check for undocumented persons and adherence to by-laws.
