'Disaster World Cup': Iran captain slams FIFA for lack of help

Iran captain Mehdi Taremi strongly criticised the conditions his team faced in the United States and questioned whether they were welcome at the World Cup after a 1-1 draw with Egypt on Friday (Jun 26).

Among other complaints, the Olympiacos player said FIFA president Gianni Infantino had promised to resolve problems caused by US travel restrictions on the team, but ultimately did nothing.

"It's a disaster World Cup. Disaster. I mean FIFA, they have to solve every problem here, but unfortunately, they couldn't solve since the beginning," Taremi said.
