Finding Sakolsky: The American Teacher, The Chinese Hero and Their Green Miracle

"It touched my heart. I was crying as I watched the news," recalls retired American teacher Ronald Sakolsky. Deeply moved by Yin Yuzhen's tireless efforts to push back desertification in China, he raised $5,000 in 1999 to help her plant trees. Today, those tiny saplings have blossomed into a vibrant forest of over 50,000 trees. Reflecting on this extraordinary over two-decade bond, Sakolsky shared his powerful belief: "If a simple world history teacher from America and a simple Chinese woman can work together to create this forest, the world can find a way to work together."
