Yining is a city bursting with color. As part of the Silk Road, it carries a deep and rich historical legacy. That legacy is now carried forward by the people of Yining, who — much like the splendid fabrics of the region — are the best reflection of this land. Liuxing Street, first laid out in the 1930s in a six-point star pattern, has been home to multiple ethnic groups living in harmony for nearly a century. On the same soil, they live side by side, together painting a vivid picture of diversity and integration in Xinjiang.
