₹25,530 करोड़ की Sarthak PDS Scheme को मंजूरी, Food Security को मिलेगी नई मजबूती

#CabinetBriefing | India runs the world’s largest food security programme, covering around 80 crore people with monthly ration support. It is widely seen as a model of inclusive growth and has helped reduce poverty, improve nutrition, and support better child development by addressing malnutrition and stunting. To strengthen the Public Distribution System (PDS), the government has approved the ₹25,530 crore Sarthak PDS Scheme. It includes three key reforms: support for transportation costs from FCI godowns to fair price shops, revision of fair price shop dealers’ remuneration, and modernization of the system through technology.The scheme has a ₹25,530 crore allocation and will be implemented over five years: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw
