The Heat: Middle East Conflict | US launches new strikes

The latest US attacks against Iran, which Washington described as “self-defense” came as the two sides continued negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict. The strikes targeted Iranian missile sites and boats allegedly laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials say an agreement is not imminent. Key issues, including reopening the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s nuclear program and sanctions relief remain unresolved.
