Indian Diaspora’s Safety Taken On Priority #meaindia #GulfCrisis

#Watch | The MEA India is closely monitoring the situation in the Gulf and West Asia, with a focus on the safety and welfare of the large Indian community in the region. A dedicated control room and 24x7 helplines are operational through Indian missions, which are coordinating with local authorities and state governments while issuing regular advisories on travel, flights, and consular support. Special attention is being given to Indian seafarers, including assistance, communication with families, and facilitation of return where needed.

Air services from the region to India continue based on operational conditions, with over 10.38 lakh passengers travelling since February 28. Limited and non-scheduled flights are operating from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar depending on airspace availability. Indian missions have also facilitated the evacuation and movement of over 2,300 Indian nationals from Iran via Armenia and Azerbaijan, while arrangements continue for Indian citizens in Israel through alternate routes via Jordan and Egypt, says Aseem R. Mahajan, Additional Secretary (Gulf), Ministry of External Affairs.
