Is Japan's militarization push a threat to security in Asia-Pacific?

Japan has approved a sweeping legal overhaul, lifting a decades-old ban on lethal weapons exports. Tokyo is also accelerating its military buildup, with changes that many see as eroding the constraints of its postwar pacifist constitution and raising concerns about Asia's security order. Neighboring countries have denounced an April 22 visit by 126 Japanese lawmakers to the Yasukuni Shrine, where Class-A war criminals are enshrined. So, what's driving Japan's rapid military shift? Why are Asian nations increasingly concerned about Japan becoming a more assertive military power? And what could this mean for stability in the Asia-Pacific?
