US plans to take in more Afrikaner asylum-seekers

The US State Department has sent an emergency declaration to the US Congress seeking to more than double the number of South African refugees admitted into the United States in this fiscal year, which ends on September 30th.

Various US media including CNN, CBS and the New York Times have confirmed an April report from Reuters that the Trump administration was moving ahead with plans to add an additional 10.000 refugees to its earlier 7500 cap, taking the total number to 17500.
