Persian Culture and Puppetry: A modern telling of the epic 'Shahnameh'

Hundreds of handcrafted puppets take center stage in Song of the North, a visually striking shadow puppetry spectacle. The production brings an ancient Persian love story to life through a seamless blend of manual artistry and cinematic animation.

"For me, it's for the culture of Iran," said Hamid Rahmanian, the play's creator and illustrator of a recent translation of the epic work Shahnameh, on which the play is based on.
