Young Singaporeans should build capabilities that are unlikely to be replaced by tech: Jasmin Lau

The government will act if companies repeatedly take public grants for AI and growth while treating workers unfairly, said Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Jasmin Lau, as Singapore prepares for an AI-driven economy. In an interview with CNA, she said young graduates should focus less on "safe careers" and more on skills that technology cannot easily replace. Meanwhile, more than 2,000 retailers will get an AI boost to tackle challenges such as rising operational costs and shorter product launch cycles.
