Philippines ends rescue efforts for 16 missing after building collapse

Rescue teams in the Philippines have ended their search for 16 people believed to be trapped beneath the rubble of a collapsed building in Angeles City, with at least four people confirmed dead. The building, which was under construction, collapsed on Sunday, prompting nearly 48 hours of rescue operations during which 27 survivors were pulled from the debris. Heavy machinery has been brought in for recovery operations, though crews must first cut through steel scaffolding by hand to avoid further collapses. Relatives of missing workers have expressed grief and frustration, with some families calling for the building's owner to be held accountable.
