Held every year on the 8th day of the 4th lunar month to celebrate Buddha’s Birthday, the Lotus Lantern Festival is one of Korea’s iconic and traditional festivals!

Jogyesa Temple and the streets of downtown Seoul glow with colorful lanterns as citizens and international visitors light lanterns filled with their own wishes.

From making lanterns by hand and experiencing traditional Buddhist culture to joining the nighttime lantern parade, people come together to celebrate this vibrant festival!

With a history spanning over 1,200 years, the Lotus Lantern Festival is a treasured Korean tradition
and a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Come experience the lively atmosphere.

매년 음력 4월 8일 부처님 오신 날을 맞아 열리는
