Africa has expertise to mount strong response to Ebola outbreak: President Cyril Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa says Africa has the expertise, institutions and leadership to mount a strong response to the Ebola outbreak. Speaking during an urgent Africa CDC High-Level Ministerial Meeting, Ramaphosa announced South Africa's 5-million-dollar contribution to bolster the agency's continental efforts.

The World Health Organization says more than 200 suspected deaths have been recorded since the rare Bundibugyo strain of Ebola was declared a public health emergency of international concern. Ramaphosa stressed that speed, unity and public trust will be critical to containing the outbreak.
