Rescue efforts ongoing after 7 villagers trapped in Laos cave

Rescuers in Laos are racing to reach seven villagers trapped inside a flooded cave since May 20, after heavy rain sent water surging through the underground passageways and blocked their escape route. A 26-member Thai rescue team has reportedly joined Lao authorities in the operation, but rising water levels, narrow cave passages and persistent rainfall continue to complicate efforts to reach those trapped.
