Residents across Gauteng are being urged not to panic as Eskom and Rand Water prepare for a major phase of planned maintenance expected to cause intermittent water supply disruptions between 29 May and 17 July.
The maintenance will include electrical work at the Palmiet and Zuikerbosch systems, upgrades to pumps and motors, valve replacements, and pipeline work aimed at improving the reliability of Gauteng's water supply system.
Rand Water says the work has been scheduled during winter when water demand is lower, and maintenance will happen in phases meaning there will not be a complete shutdown of water supply across the province.
Joining us to explain the planned maintenance and what residents can expect, is Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo.
