Nigeria navy plans local shipbuilding push: Lagos dockyard aims to cut foreign warship dependence

Nigeria is expanding naval shipbuilding in Lagos to reduce reliance on foreign vessels and strengthen maritime security. The navy is locally producing and maintaining patrol boats used against piracy, oil theft, and smuggling, while boosting jobs and technical expertise.
