Senegal president sacks PM Sonko

Following months of simmering tensions between himself and his Prime Minister, Senegal's President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has fired Ousmane Sonko.

Faye has also dissolved the government in a move that risks deepening uncertainty in the West African nation already grappling with a debt crisis and amid drawn-out talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)
