Ukraine has rejected Russian claims that it struck a student dormitory in the occupied region of Luhansk, saying the target was actually the headquarters of Russia’s elite Rubicon drone unit.
Kyiv accuses Moscow of spreading disinformation and says the attack targeted a military facility used to coordinate drone operations against Ukrainian cities.
At the same time, Ukraine says it has intensified long-range drone strikes deep inside Russian territory, targeting oil refineries, command centers, and air defense systems. In recent weeks, Ukrainian drones have increasingly penetrated Russian air defenses, including around Moscow.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says it is time to “bring the war home to Russia,” as Ukraine shifts strategy and attempts to increase pressure far beyond the front lines.
The escalation marks another phase in the war, with both sides increasingly relying on drones and long-range attacks while accusations of disinformation continue to grow.
