The African National Congress has announced the opening of public nominations for its centralised selection process of mayoral candidates ahead of the upcoming local government elections.

This comes as the party also confirms the establishment of an Eastern Cape Provincial Task Team, following a similar interim structure announced for Gauteng earlier this week.
