The protest we lodged yesterday involved summoning the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to register our strong concern over the attack on the commercial vessel MT Settebello off the coast of Oman. Three Indian nationals lost their lives in the incident. We conveyed our deepest concerns regarding this attack and the continuing string of such incidents, and expressed our expectation that these attacks must come to an immediate end. We also raised our concerns over the targeting of commercial shipping, maritime infrastructure, and civilian facilities. These concerns were formally conveyed to the U.S. side: MEA India
