Public Protector Releases Charlotte Maxeke Hospital Fire Delay Report

The Public Protector South Africa (PPSA) will on Friday, 22 May 2026, release a report on an investigation into allegations of undue delay by the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development and the Gauteng Department of Health to Repair Structural Damage Caused by a fire at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. The Public Protector has also determined in terms of section 7(2) of the Public Protector Act, to provide updates on notices issued to the City of Ekurhuleni and the City of Tshwane, in terms of section 7(9) of the Public Protector Act.
