ANC NW to hold a memorial service for former Premier Bushy Maape

The ANC in the North West will host a memorial service in honour of former Premier and struggle veteran Bushy Maape in Mahikeng.

The party says it will celebrate his life, honour his enduring legacy, and reflect on his immense contribution to the liberation struggle.

Maape has been accorded a Special Provincial Official Funeral Category 1 by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

He died last weekend after a short illness at the age of 68 in Johannesburg.

He was the premier of the province from 2021 till 2024, after taking over from Job Mokgoro, who was accused of allegedly ignoring party instructions.
