Flooding across parts of the Western Cape is now raising concerns beyond the immediate damage left behind by last week's storms.

Health experts are warning that stagnant water in informal settlements, combined with overwhelmed sanitation systems, could increase the risk of waterborne disease in vulnerable communities.
