Mosque guard engaged in ‘gun battle’ with suspects: police

One of the three people killed by two teen shooters at a San Diego mosque was a beloved security guard who acted quickly to prevent more deaths, authorities said.

Police Chief Scott Wahl said the guard, identified as Amin Abdullah by family and community members, ‘ultimately deterred’ suspects from entering the mosque and gaining access to areas where nearly 140 children were present.
