Today, the Nordic Prime Ministers met with the Prime Minister of India for the third meeting in the Nordic-India format, held here in Oslo. We had very productive discussions on key international issues.

This meeting reflects what today’s unpredictable world truly needs — stronger cooperation and collaboration between democracies. Despite differences in geography, size, and history, we share a common approach to addressing the major challenges of our time.

We discussed geopolitical challenges faced by both the Nordic countries and India. There was a strong focus on supporting international law and a rules-based global order, while also recognising the need for reforms and progress.

We emphasised the importance of achieving a just and lasting peace, particularly in the Middle East. We also discussed security, trade, and ways to deepen our economic relations. With ongoing free trade discussions between India and the European Union, there is strong potential for growth.
