PM मोदी को नॉर्वे का सर्वोच्च सम्मान, भारत-नॉर्वे रिश्तों को मिली नई मजबूती- Sibi George, MEA

#WATCH | After his arrival, later in the afternoon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had an audience with His Majesty the King. The discussions reflected the long-standing friendship, mutual respect, and strong people-to-people ties between India and Norway. His Majesty also hosted a lunch in honour of the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed his appreciation for the King’s support in strengthening India–Norway relations and extended an invitation to visit India at a mutually convenient time. He also invited His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, who was present at the lunch, to visit India along with a business delegation as a rare and special gesture.

The Prime Minister was conferred the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit by His Majesty, the highest degree of the honour. It was awarded for his outstanding service in strengthening India–Norway relations and contributions to mankind. PM Modi expressed his gratitude and dedicated the honour to the people of India and the enduring friendship between the two nations.

Prime Minister Modi also held a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, the Prime Minister of Norway, including both one-on-one discussions and delegation-level talks. The discussions covered the full spectrum of bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments of mutual interest.

Both leaders noted significant progress in cooperation across sectors such as trade and investment, green transition, renewable energy, blue economy, maritime (including shipbuilding), research and innovation, education, healthcare, digital technologies, Arctic research, space, and people-to-people exchanges: Sibi George, Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs of India
