Western Cape focuses on disaster relief

The Western Cape government says its focus remains on humanitarian aid, and reaching people that are cut off due to infrastructure damage and flooding, after last week's destructive storms.

The province was severely impacted with 11 people dying, over 100-000 people affected in Cape Town alone, roads and bridges washed away, and more than 25-000 structures damaged.
Authorities have made a request for a disaster declaration.
