Gauteng Gambling Board CEO fired over misconduct

Gauteng Gambling Board CEO, Dr Karabo Mbele, has been fired with immediate effect following findings of serious governance failures and gross misconduct in a final forensic investigation report.

Gauteng Economic Development MEC, Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, says the report uncovered serious governance failures, compliance breaches and alleged interference in funding processes at the entity.

Ramokgopa was speaking during a media briefing at the Gauteng Gambling Board in Johannesburg.
