Trump warns Iran, ‘time is of the essence’ as tensions escalate

US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that “the clock is ticking” as negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain deadlocked amid rising regional tensions.

Trump’s comments came after Pakistan’s interior minister met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran in an effort to support mediation efforts. Iranian officials responded defiantly, warning of “severe blows” against US interests if any new confrontation erupts.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates reported drone incursions into their airspace, including an incident near the UAE’s Barakah nuclear power plant, raising fears of a wider regional escalation.

Analysts say Gulf states are increasingly concerned about security, energy infrastructure and the economic fallout of a prolonged conflict.
