Discussion | SADC Foreign Ministers' retreat to deal with migration, elections and governance

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) will next week host a special meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in Skukuza at the Kruger National Park.

The meeting that is set to take place on 22 and 23 May 2026 follows a resolution taken at the recent SADC Council of Ministers Meeting held in Pretoria in March.

The SADC Foreign Ministers will be reflecting on the prevailing geo-political environment in the world and the impact thereof on the region.

South Africa convenes the meeting in its capacity as interim chair of SADC.
