Nairobi County government drafts a bill to support urban farming

Nairobi County government has drafted a bill that is aimed at supporting urban farming. The County’s Chief Officer in charge of Agriculture and Natural Resources Gladwell Cheruiyot says the Urban Agriculture and Food Security Bill is a shift from policies that banned farming in the city, and is in response to hunger which she said is more pronounced in some urban areas than rural areas.
