Floods | Mop-up efforts continue at Gamtoos Valley

Farms across the Kouga Municipal region were hit hard by the widespread flooding of last week.

Farmers are still counting their losses as their fruit trees were submerged and vegetable fields washed away as the Gamtoos river burst its banks on the way to the ocean. Hundreds of people were displaced and road infrastructure damaged.

Nandipha Plaatjie is in the Gamtoos Valley taking stock of the situation as mop-up efforts continue.
