Off the coast of Shanghai's Lingang Special Area, a newly operational platform now hosts the world's first commercial underwater data center powered by offshore wind energy, marking a new step in China's computing infrastructure push. #china #wind #tech #underwater #datacenter

Located 10 meters underwater, the facility houses nearly 2,000 servers and uses cool seawater for heat dissipation, eliminating the need for freshwater. Connected directly to a nearby offshore wind farm, more than 95% of its electricity comes from green energy. Compared with land-based facilities, the underwater data center reduces energy and land use while improving operational efficiency. #coolchina
